Designing a Photo: 15 Steps to Better Composition

Tuesday, April 23, 2024 - 6:45pm to 8:30pm
Online Zoom Meeting - Refer to Meeting Announcement

Iconic photographer Ansel Adams once said, "You don't take a photograph. You make it." And a large part of successfully making a photo is knowing what to include and not include within the four sides of your frame, and how to do so pleasingly and even artfully.

This presentation will illustrate some of the most important design elements to keep in mind when composing a photo, as well as the many enhancements you can make with software to bring out the best your captured photo has to offer.

This presentation has been designed to help with the most common design "shortcomings" that appear regularly in our photo reviews, competitions, and photos submitted for our juried exhibitions. But it will also be enlightening to those who just takes photos for the enjoyment of friends, family, and themselves.

Hope to see you there, on Zoom!
