Club volunteers need for theatre production about Confederate Flag

Seeking club member volunteers for still and video photography of rehearsals and performances of Abolitionists' Museum Oct 25-30, 2016. The photos and videos will be archived and used to promote performance of the play by schools and community groups in Virginia and around the U.S.

The play will be presented free to the public in City Council Chambers 7:30 PM, Oct 28; The Haven 3:00 PM, Oct 29; and Ebenezer Baptist Church 3:00 PM, Oct 30, 2016.

Abolitionists' Museum, by Sheri Bailey, is a forum on the meaning of the Confederate Battle Flag. The play features the following historical figures: Harriet Beecher Stowe, John Brown, Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln, Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, Nat Turner and David Walker. They are wax figures in a museum where the Curator displays a Confederate flag. The statues come to life and argue the meaning of the flag. The audience has their say in a post-show discussion.
