How do I find a lost user name or password for CCC?

  • Contact Jim Demas at demas@virginia.edu and he will provide your name and/or reset your password.

How do I submit photos for club competitions, photo reviews, or exhibit jurying?

  • You submit your photos via Photo Contest Pro (PCP; www.photocontestpro.com).
  • Contact Gerry Bishop at gerrybishop73@gmail.com to be registered with PCP and receive a user name. You can then create and enter your password for PCP.  This name and password will be different from your CCC name and password. They are not interchangeable.
  • For club photo competitions, the deadline for submission is Monday at midnight of the week of the meeting. The deadline will also be indicated on the PCP site, and you will get a reminder by email the week of the meeting.
  • For our photo review sessions, the deadline is Friday at midnight the day before the session, which is on the last Saturday of each month.
  • For all uploads, resize your photos to no more than 2000 pixels on the longest dimension.  Details are given at http://cvillecameraclub.org/node/33 .

 How do I enter or update my portrait photo in the CCC website member directory?

  • Log in.
  • Click on My Account on the left.  This brings up your profile information.
  • Select the Edit tab.
  • Scroll down about mid-way and you will have a place to upload a picture.
  • After uploading your picture, scroll to the bottom and select Save.
  • Photos will be reduced to 220 pixels on the longest side. You can resize beforehand to see how they will present.
  • Please upload a photo of yourself and not a surrogate photo.

How do I change my CCC password?

  • Log in.
  • Click on My Account on the left. This brings up your profile information.
  • Select the Edit tab.
  • Scroll down, enter your new password in the Password box, and retype in Confirm Password box.
  • Then scroll to the bottom and select Save.

How can I communicate with other members?

  • If you want to communicate with the entire membership at once, go to the CCC website and click on the Forums link on the left side of the home page. Click on “How to Use” to begin, then post your message. There may be a delay of a day or two before your message reaches the other members.
  • If you want to communicate with an individual member, go to the Directory (left side of the home page) and look up the member’s email or phone number.

Does the club offer information on how to take better photos?

  • Mentoring: Many of our experienced club members enjoy helping others in the club learn the skills of taking photos and how to optimize photos with software. Contact Gerry Bishop, the club’s Education Chair, and he will match you with a mentor who can best help you. (See club Directory for contact info.)
  • Ongoing Presentations: Almost every month we invite an outside expert or an experienced club member to do a presentation on various aspects of photography. The dates and times are listed on the CCC Calendar, which is available through a link on the home page of the website.
  • Past Presentations: By clicking on the Presentations link on the website, you have access to many of the past presentations that have been made, available in a PDF format. Recordings of our Zoom presentations are also provided to all members soon after a presentation takes place.
  • Photo Reviews: One of the most direct ways to learn more about how to improve your photography is to take part in the competitions and in the Photo Review sessions, where you will get specific feedback on each of your photos and how to make improvements.
