Bracketts Farm Field Trip April 11th

Join us for a photo field trip to a hidden gem in the Green Springs National Historic District near Zions Crossroads. Landscapes, barns, outbuildings, slave quarters and old farm equipment in a beautiful historic setting. Cyrus McCormack demonstrated his newly invented Reaper on this farm in the early 1800's. The historic area has dirt roads and buried electric lines to maintain the period ambiance. The farm also has a lovely pond for wildlife viewing. This farm is run by a volunteer foundation and still maintains a rustic appearance that lends itself to photo ops. If there is interest we will schedule the trip for Saturday April 11th 1-5PM and set a rain date for the 25th. If interested please email stankaslusky@comcast.net

Note: Since we will be asking a Bracketts volunteer to attend and open buildings for us It would be nice to have at least 12 folks sign up for this trip.

So excited to see this happen. I'm a tentative, and will come if at all possible. Green Springs is really beautiful. It was the first *rural* National Historic Landmark to be named to the National Register of Historic Places ... thanks to its long-time advocate-attorney Rae Ely, who is still alive and working actively in her 90s to protect the district. Bruce will remember Rae. You can learn more about Green Springs and the more than 20 historic properties that are included in the District: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Springs_National_Historic_Landmark_D...
