I am a long-term uses of ACDSee in its various iterations, currently Pro8. It started as a cataloging program, more thorough than the Organizer found in Elements, and then grew to the point where I saw no need for LR in my workflow. Yes, it can process RAW files. In the Pro8 version, one has great flexibility in processing terms. And, they have just added a Layers option, which I do not have. Using ACDSee in tandem with Elements has given me sufficient latitude that, often, I do not even bother with Elements. From all the comments I see and hear, it seems easier to use than LR, and might be a useful alternative for those not wanting to engage with LR.
